The wrench is used to tightenthe scaler tip manually. Thetorque wrench is essential toensure scaler tips areattached to the handpiece atthe correct torque. Thewrench is a torque-controlledinstrument as it ensures anoptimal screwing force,without exerting too muchforce when screwingmanually the US tip to thehandpiece. Over torquing thetip will damage the threads ofboth the tip and thehandpiece, too little torqueand scaler tip will not workcorrectly.
