Additional Description
This kit is used for in vitro quantitative detection of β-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) in human serum and (or) plasma. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a kind of glycoprotein hormone that is produced by the placenta and whose structure is similar to hypophyseal hormones FSH, TSH and LH. These hormones all contain the same α subunit (MW 15000-20000 Dalton), but they all have immunological and biological specificity due to different β subunits. The placenta will produce HCG in the gestation period. For non-pregnant women, placental trophoblastic tumor, germ cell tumor of trophoderm ingredient and some non-trophoblastic tumors also can produce HCG. Decrease of HCG indicates the possibility of abortion, ectopic pregnancy, gestational toxicosis or intrauterine death.
