This kit is used for in vitro quantitative detection of ferritin (Ferr) in human serum and (or) plasma. Ferritin is a kind of macromolecular protein whose molecular weight reaches at least 440kD and that contains a protein housing comprised of 24 subunits and an iron core containing about 2500 ferric ions on average. Determination of ferritin is a suitable method for identifying ferric metabolism condition. Determination of ferritin content in the early treatment period is a typical method for estimating the ferrum content of human body. Shortage of ferrum in the reticuloendothelial system (RES) can be detected out very early.
