Step Monitoring is an adverse event data management software application which helps not cognitively impairedadult patients and healthcare professionals to better cope with the adverse events and to improve clinical follow-up of these patients respectively, during and after cancer treatment. It notifies the medical team in case symptoms are out of acceptable range so that therapies can be adjusted or prioritized if further check-up or diagnosis should be performed. Step Monitoring helps the clinicians to manage symptoms proactively for an early detection of complications gathering data reported by both patients and clinicians. In this way, it improves clinicians’ workflow and patient-clinician communication, reduces emergency room visits and unplanned hospitalizations, meets scheduled treatment duration, improves Quality of Life (QoL) of cancer patients, and contributes to patients living longer.
