Additional Description
This kit is used for in vitro quantitative detection of Heart-type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) in human serum, plasma or whole blood samples. H-FABP is a new type of small cytoplasmic protein rich in heart. It is highly cardiac specific (that is, it is mainly expressed in cardiac tissue), but it is also expressed in low concentrations in tissues other than the heart. After myocardial ischemic injury, H-FABP can be found in the blood as early as 1-3 hours after the onset of chest pain, reaching the peak in 6-8 hours, and the plasma level returns to normal within 24-30 hours. Cardiac fatty acid binding cytoplasmic protein is composed of 132 amino acids with a molecular weight of 15 kDa. H-FABP gene is located on chromosome I. It is one of the most abundant proteins in the heart. H-FABP binds two fatty acid molecules and participates in the transport of fatty acyl coenzyme A. It is active in the oxidation process, thus generating energy in mitochondria.
