Additional Description
For the quantitative in vitro determination of cholinesterase activity in serum or plasma. Cholinesterase (CHE) is an enzyme synthesized by the liver. There are two forms of cholinesterase: acetyl cholinesterase and cholinesterase or also commonly referred to as pseudo cholinesterase. Acetyl cholinesterase is found predominantly in erythrocytes. Determining the activity of cholinesterase is of particular value in the diagnostic of patients with atypical forms of the enzyme and in organic phosphorus insecticide poisoning[1,2].
