The kit is used for in vitro quantitative detection of 25-hydroxy vitamin D(25-OH-VD) in human serum, plasma or whole blood. Vitamin D is a kind of liposoluble steroid hormone precursors that is produced when the skin is exposed to sunlight or is directly supplied by food. Without bioactivity, vitamin D must be converted into 1,25-dihydroxy vitamin D with bioactivity through two continuous hydroxylation processes in the liver and kidney.
