It is used for temporary fixation of distal radius and ulna fractures, nonunion, malunion, pseudoarthrosis, osteotomies, especially for fixation of open fractures, and for distraction and compression in the fracture area. Multi-plane and stronger fixation is possible with the hybrid fixator.
