Sun4Health is a digital medical platform for monitoring the impacts of solar radiation exposure on personal health and for facilitating user’s self-care aimed to the prevention of related diseases, like vitamin D deficiency and/or skin conditions. It includes a mobile app interface (Sun4Health App) enabling users to have safe sun exposures, minimising the risks and maximising the benefits for the health. The app allows to plan outdoor activities and to personalise photoprotection measures according to personal skin features, tracking the solar radiation dose for supporting users in preventing erythema (sunburn) and long-term photoinduced skin diseases as well as enabling adequate vitamin D synthesis. Moreover, the Sun4Health platform also includes a web-portal interface (Sun4Health Web Portal) where clinicians can supervise the sun exposure behaviour and vitamin D levels of their patients, enabling patient-tailored treatments and personalised clinical indications.
