Fagron TrichoTest™ is intended to assist health professionals in making patient-specific care decisions regarding the treatment or prevention of androgenetic alopecia, areata alopecia and telogen effluvium. It analyses 16 single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with metabolic pathways predicting alopecia treatment responses and combines this data with relevant patient anamnesis to recommend the most appropriate treatment. Genetic data are obtained from commercially validated biomedical assays performed on DNA extracted from buccal swab. Fagron TrichoTest™ uses an automatized qualitative pharmacogenetic algorithm that predicts treatment responses and recommends the most appropriate alopecia treatment option in adult male and female populations affected by this condition. Outcomes include genetic results and personalized treatment formulas with suitable active ingredients and doses.
