Additional Description
This kit is suitable for in vitro quantitative detection of the concentration of Cortisol in human serum, plasma or whole blood samples. It is mainly used for the differential diagnosis of hypercalcemia and hypocalcemia. It is the most abundant steroid in the circulation and the main glucocorticoid secreted by the adrenal cortex. Cortisol has the physiological effects of anti-inflammatory and maintaining blood pressure. In addition, it is also related to gluconeogenesis, calcium absorption and the secretion of gastric acid and pepsin. Cortisol is an indicator of adrenocortical function. The detection of cortisol in blood is very useful for the differential diagnosis of Addison and Cushing disease, hypophysis, adrenal hyperplasia and cancer.
