Additional Description
This kit is suitable for in vitro quantitative detection of the concentration of Sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) in human serum and plasma samples. The Sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) is an androgen binding glycoprotein produced by the liver. It binds with sex hormones and participates in their transport, regulating the concentration of bioactive sex hormones in the blood.SHBG is associated with many risk factors of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Low SHBG is a specific sign of hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance (IR). The intrauterine environment and birth weight abnormalities exposed to diabetic women are risk factors for obesity and type 2 diabetes in offspring. Therefore, the test of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) has important clinical significance.
