Additional Description
For the quantitative in vitro determination of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) in serum or plasma. Elevated levels of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) occur in patients with active sarcoidosis, with tubercolosis, Gaucher’s disease and in many other pathological conditions in lung and liver diseases. ACE is expressed by pulmonary endothelium. It was discovered that ACE increases during acute lung injury. ACE is considered as a reliable indicator for evaluating the severity of lung injury.
