Surgical, non-sterile caps are intended to prevent transmission of infectious agents during invasive surgical procedures between patients and clinical staff. They contribute to the clinical condition and safety of patients as well as to the safety and health of their users. These products are used in order to reduce spreading of infectious agents to operating sites and from patients, by helping prevent post-operative wound infections. Caps are for single use. The use of surgical, non-sterile caps can also reduce the risk for medical staff of infectious agents transmitted by blood and bodily liquids.
