HLA-B*27 is a class I major tissue compatibility antigen found positive in 9% of the population and associated with susceptibility to various rheumatic diseases (Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and Reiter's syndrome (RS) etc.). The kit is a test for detecting the presence of the HLA-B*27 allele from human genomic DNA, working with the Realtime PCR-based Dissolution Curve principle, for use in the diagnosis of AS and RS.
