"This kit is intended for in vitro quantitative detection of lipoprotein (a) [Lp (a)] in human serum and is mainly used clinically to evaluate the risk for cardiovascular diseases. Lp (a) is a special plasma lipoprotein consisting of a low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particle and an apolipoprotein(a) [Apo(a)], which are linked by a disulfide bond. The LDL particle is rich in cholesterol and contains an apolipoprotein B100[1]. The individual serum concentration of Lp (a) is relatively stable and is not affected by non-genetic factors such as age, gender, or diet. Study shows that Lp (a) level is closely correlated with cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, and other diseases, and is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases"
