This product is intended for use of in vitro qualitative testing of EB Virus Capsid Antigen (VCA) IgA antibody in human serum. EB Virus is a γ herpesvirus of human B lymphocyte that mainly invades B lymphocytes, with an affinity for human B-lymphocytes, epithelial cells (including parotid ducts, pharynx, and cervix), and glandular cells. Current research has found that EB Virus infection is associated with a variety of human tumors such as nasopharynx cancer and lymphatic cancers. VCA is the structural protein synthesized at the later stage of proliferation of EB virus and exists in the endochylema and core. The combination of VCA and viral DNA forms a nucleocapsid, which eventually becomes a complete virion. The large amount of VCA expressions shows that the EB virus has started its duplication status. The test results are for clinical reference only and cannot be used alone as a basis for confirming or excluding cases.
