This product consists of plastic test tubes, tube stoppers/caps, media/preservation solution and sampling swabs for the collection and transport of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Salmonella and Shigella specimens. A sample is first collected from the body's natural orifices with a swab, which is then placed in a culture medium for transport and storage. The preservation liquid components of the culture medium are sodium chloride, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, sodium thioglycolate, calcium chloride and agar. Testing must be completed within 48 hours of specimen collection. The shelf life of this product is 1 year.
