It is used for temporary fixation of proximal femur fractures, nonunions, malunions, osteotomies, pseudoarthrosis and especially in the detection of proximal femur open fractures. It is used especially in elderly patients for detection of proximal femur (intertrochanteric, pertrochanteric) fractures, early mobilization and distraction and compression in the fracture area.
