44688 - Polymer surgical mesh patch (mesh), biodegradable - By knitting from biodegradable polymer (e.g. polyglycolic acid, polycarbonate, polyglycolide or carbon fibers, possibly in combination with other compounds) used to support or preserve soft tissue in a surgical procedure and / or as short-term implant for tissue regeneration (e.g. tissue engineering) / flat or three-dimensional (3-D) porous material made by tapping. The device can be placed in surgical or traumatic connective tissue spaces (eg, in bone or cartilage) for tissue regeneration. Some products in this group have been used in combination with fibrin gum to control postoperative air leaks from the lungs.
