Offers the versatility and ability to be used on minimally invasive total hip replacements anteriorly or posteriorly, and can also be useful in spine surgery. Can be used to hold the hip capsule out of the way for easy visualization, and to allow reaming of the acetabulum without catching the capsule in the reamer. The ends of the retractor have dull tips to help avoid soft tissue damage. Wider separation occurs at the deep capsule level. Holds the muscle out of the way while retracting the capsule. Also helpful in MIS Spine approaches.
