INTENDED PURPOSE / INTENDED USE For in vitro diagnostic use in the quantitative determination of chloride concentration in human serum and plasma with the automated procedures of Thermo Scientificโข Indikoโข and Konelabโข analyzers. The Chloride Micro Volume Electrode test is indicated to be used in conjunction with clinical evaluation for screening and monitoring of disturbances in chloride homeostasis and electrolyte, water and acid-base balance, as a part of basic metabolic panel, in patients. Disturbance in chloride homeostasis (hyperchloridemia and hypochloridemia) can be caused due to overhydration or dehydration, adrenal, renal and gastric disorders or due to overtreatment with normal saline solutions and various acid-base balance disorders, in patients.
