Additional Description
The Lipoprotein-associated Phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) Reagent Kit is intended to quantitatively determine the Lp-PLA2 activity in human serum. Clinically, it is mainly used for auxiliary assessment of the risk of atherosclerosis-related cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2, also known as platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase, is mainly synthesized and secreted by mature macrophages and lymphocytes, which can hydrolyze oxidized low-density lipoprotein (Ox-LDL) and produce pro-inflammatory substances such as lysolecithin and liberated oxidized fatty acids, thereby resulting in vascular inflammation. Lp-PLA2 can be used as a detection index for risk assessment of atherosclerosis-related coronary heart disease, ischemic stroke and various thrombotic diseases of electrolyte balance.
