Additional Description
"The kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of lipase (LPS) activity in human serum and is mainly used in the auxiliary diagnosis of acute pancreatitis clinically. LPS is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of about 48 kDa and is mainly from pancreatic acinar cells. Its normal level is about 2,000 times higher than that in serum. About 99% of LPS is secreted into the pancreatic ducts, and only 1% is secreted into other tissue and the small intestine through the basal part of the acinar cells. Acute pancreatitis (AP) can cause damage to the pancreas acini during its development. On the other hand, damage to pancreatic tissue can lead to the blockage of the pancreatic ducts, and a large amount of LPS can enter the blood circulation, leading to an increase in the LPS level in the serum. Therefore, LPS can be used clinically as a reference index for the diagnosis and severity evaluation of AP"
