This kit is used for in vitro quantitative detection of free thyroid hormone (FT4) in human serum and (or) plasma. Thyroid hormone (T4) is an important part of the thyroid physiological regulation system and it works in basal metabolism of body. Most T4 binds to transportprotein (TBG, prealbumin and albumin). Free T4 is a part with biological activity. Determination of FT4 is a key index of clinical diagnosis. When thyroid dysfunction is suspected, FT4 and TSH are often tested jointly. FT4 is also suitable for monitoring the curative effect of thyroid inhibition. Determination of FT4 is not affected by the concentration of binding protein and change of binding property, so it is unnecessary to test some binding parameters theoretically.
