Additional Description
This kit is used for in vitro quantitative detection of total triiodothyronine (TT3) in human serum and (or) plasma. Triiodothyronine (T3) is a kind of main thyroid hormones that function on various target organs. T3 (3, 5, 3'-triiodotyrosine) is mainly produced by T4 removing 5' bit through enzyme in the liver. Thus, the concentration of T3 in the serum can better reflect the function state of peripheral tissue than the secretion function of thyroid gland. A decrease in conversion of T4 to T3 will result in decrease of T3 concentration and it can be seen in the influence of some drugs (such as propyl alcohol, glucocorticosteroid and amiodarone) and severe non-thyroid diseases, called "T3 deficiency syndrome". Like T4, above 99% of T3 binds to transport protein, but its affinity is about 10 times lower. T3 can be tested to diagnose T3 hyperthyroidism, early screening of hyperthyroidism and diagnosis of man-made thyrotoxicosis.
