"The kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of the activity of 5′-nucleotidase (5’-NT) in human serum and is mainly used in the auxiliary diagnosis of hepatobiliary system diseases clinically. 5′-NT is a specific phosphatase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate bonds in nucleotide molecules and is widely present on the membranes of cells in various tissue. Its main function is to facilitate the catabolism of nucleic acids. When there are lesions in the hepatobiliary system, the released 5′-NT enters the blood circulation after being influenced by bile acids, resulting in elevated 5′-NT activity in the serum. With high specificity and sensitivity, 5′-NT helps to diagnose hepatobiliary system diseases."
